Desensitized Horses Need Homes

Posted by Administrator on March 14, 2014 at 12:45 PM Comments comments (0)

I am sad to say we will need to re-home all our horses due to the cost of Daycare coming up after the baby is born (it's a boy!)  We cannot afford our favorite hobby and a kid for the next 4-5 years, and are willing to negotiate fair deals to good homes.  We have:

Tango who is an old guy buit search ready and peppy, gets sore on pavement d/t arthritis but otherwise great esp for kid who does light riding.  My 12 yr old neice rides him no problem, loves gaming (for beginner, he isnt really built for winning exept egg/spoon, rescue race, etc.) Broke Broke Broke! S&R ready, camps great

Tater is in his teens and is hackamore trained and anyone can ride him.  Appaloosa/thoroughbred cross, listens well to leg cues and very responsive in hack. S&R ready but not used for it yet, camps great

Mick is off track thoroughbred but now is dependable trail horse who is also an anyone-can-ride type horse but has spirit - likes to walk fast!  He does not buck and you can touch him anywhere without problem.  He is 17hh and his custom fit saddle comes with him as he is quite narrow withered.  Not for kids (very tall) but he is a puppy dog and fantastic trail horse, camps great, S&R ready

Cinnamon Stick is QH type, super broke but headshakes.  We just started her meds in fall and have not tested her out yet due to the super deep snow - she is only about 15hh.  Easy keeper, sweet, loves people but without medications will be unrideable.  Hope to try her out soon on the meds to see how she does - about $45/mo for daily meds or you can just give before you ride.  Many doses will come with her, sprinkles onto feed. Desensitized twice but no real searches yet d/t headshaking developing, trail rides excellent, camps great, stands tied all day long!

Jet is green broke but beautiful jet-black possibly freisian mix, beautiful movement, sound, healthy, peppy, just needs more time in saddle, for experienced riders only. Not ready for searching or camping quite yet, but getting good at trailering.

Please contact me if you are interested in any of these horses as we are attached to them all but need them re-homed ASAP.  It is breaking my heart but they simply have to go.  Michele G
